Professional work: Cosentino Center lighting

I work for Light Bulbs Etc, where I'm a lighting consultant that goes out to jobs to see what would be the best lighting in a space. My favorite part of my job is the decor lighting, of course. It really makes a statement of the space and explains what the place is about. I recently did the Anaheim stone showroom called Cosentino Center, where I posted earlier my freelance gig doing the autocad plan for the flooring. I helped out on the lighting decor as well.

(When you enter the showroom. The showroom is not open yet, still in the process of remodeling)

Wedding inspiration: Vintage Table

Again, distracted with wedding planning. It is seriously addicting and fun. Not so fun spending, but nonetheless, I love it. Looking at many wedding inspired blogs, such as Green wedding shoes, kiss the groom, and once wed, some of the few that I checked out. I just went to the flea market and got some sweet deals on these massive candle holders that would be displayed on the altar, and found on the street of Long Beach, a vintage chair, that of course, I love and plan to paint lime green (post later, too dark to take pictures).

(the idea of coloring it lime green! Do not ask me why, I'm just weird like that...and I have a thing for chairs, as you can see)

So my main focus is the wedding ceremony. What would be the decor for the ceremony. Well, I had a few ideas. First, For the main aisle, the catering place will provide the white chairs and rose petals on the main aisle, but thats it. Seems to plain for me, hence buying the massive candle holders. So for the chairs that are nearby the aisle, I plan to make paper rosettes, with a string to attach. I think of it as a big ornament. In the middle of the rosette will be a logo that Dan and I will provide.

The next idea I had was having a table full of vintage knick knacks, that would be located behind the minister, Dan and I will be standing. Right next to it will be my awesome lime green chair.

The place that the ceremony is located is right outside the reception, Bridges Auditorium. This place is massive and the architecture itself is amazing. I hope the table and the candle holders give it more of a comfy home setting. I can't believe I'm getting married soon!

Kids Play room

Okay, so the whole reason I started this blog is because I wanted to show more of my professional work, but of course, mixed in with my fun and not so professional work. I posted wedding stuff because that is on my mind 24/7. But I did want to have some of the designs I am doing currently. So, a stone/tile showroom called Cosentino Center, asked me to do some of their lighting. They knew I had interior design background, so they gave me a freelance gig on working their floor of the kids playroom to look more fun. They had particular colors they wanted to use, such as blue, green yellows, and reds. They were these new fun eco-friendly silestone that they wanted to display. So the idea of jigsaw puzzle was collaborated. I gave them the drawing of the color scheme and design.

And here's how it looks!

I love the mini modern chairs and table.

They haven't open the showroom yet. More to come on the lighting design!

Wedding invitations

So it seems to me that my blog is going to be dedicated to wedding stuff! The wedding invites were such a pain...but it was well worth it. Dan and I borrowed our friend's letterpress, which weighs a ton, and used it for our invitations. Dan and I love art. Our all time favorite media is printmaking. To use a letterpress has that same effect.

The crazy letterpress! We carried this big piece of metal to our second floor apartment.

The process of the invites. We decided to put the bridal shower invites into the wedding invitations.

Took a week to dry...for the two color process, it took longer. It was a learning experience..

So in the end, Dan and I loved the look. There were some hit or miss on the invites, but overall, we loved it.
